Clyde Cruises is a family run business operating river cruises and boat trips in Scotland. Recently the company has expanded from its base on the Clyde to provide cruises in different locations across the country.

Hamish Munro, Director of Clyde Cruises, comments, “Our new offer on the Caledonian Canal is designed to fit with other aspects of a Scottish holiday and provide the very best way to drink in the local heritage and scenery. We will sail the canal daily from Wednesday 30thJuly  to the end of August. Our schedule for sailings during the autumn and winter will be released at the end of summer. There are options to join the cruise for an hour (between Banavie and Gairlochy) for 2.5 hours(between  Banavie and Laggan or Laggan and Fort Augustus).  Or visitors can choose the longer 6 hour option and take in the whole of the route from Banavie to Fort Augustus. Different options are available on different days.

“Our cruises have been planned to link with local bus services, so you can sail along the canal in one direction, then catch the bus back. Alternatively, there is space on board for bicycles and some great options for sailing in one direction and cycling or walking in the other.”

The trips have been designed to be suitable for a wide range of ages and will be ideal for families with children. Parking is available at Banavie and Laggan. The full on-board commentary means passengers can discover the history of this fascinating area of Scotland and well as gaining an insight into the wildlife and scenery that they are sailing through.

Cruises are aboard a large, modern, comfortable vessel with heated indoor observation saloon and wide open top viewing deck. There is a coffee bar on-board serving a selection of hot and cold drinks and snacks. The full day cruise between Banavie and Fort Augustus includes a short lunchtime stop at Laggan.
