24th June 2014
We have today been advised that our City Centre departure point will be taken out of use due to the Commonwealth Games activities from July 4th to Aug 13th. Therefore we have no alternative other than to cancel all "Doon the Watter" sailings for 2014. We would like to apologise for this inconvenient turn of events, however it is completely outwith our control and equally disappointing to us.
Sailing "doon the watter" has a long history in Glasgow, when the town's workers would escape by Clyde steamer from the factories and shipyards for a day trip full of fresh air and beautiful scenery or would head off for their holidays to Clyde resorts such as Rothesay and Dunoon. Today, visitors to Scotland and Glasgow are rediscovering the delights of cruising on the Clyde.
Clydebank was once a centre for shipbuilding and the Titan crane is a great landmark (complete with lift!) which is open to visitors in the summer months. Combine a trip up the crane with your cruise and enjoy stunning views of the river from this vantage point.
